MONITORING SOLUTION BASED ON PHEROMONE ATTRACTANT

This solution combines a Delta trap and a pheromone dispenser to capture the male adults of the vine mealybug.

Host plants: Polyphagous species mainly found in all grape varieties (Vitis vinifera), but also on the neighboring plants of vineyards (e.g. fig trees, apple trees, willows, etc.).

Pest life-stage: Nymph and adult (female).

Targeted stage: Adult (male)

Emergence: April (depending on climatic conditions)

Number of generations: between 3 and 10 per year 1 female can lay between 200 and 400 eggs per season, laid in white and cottony ovisacs.

Active substance: Lavandulyl senecioate

User guide

Use: VMB® syringe + Delta trap

Trap setup: Setup the Delta trap. Place the string to hang it. Remove the protective film from the sticky sheet. Place the green cup in the middle of the sticky sheet. Empty the content of the syringe into the cup by simply pressing on the plunger (no need to cut the tip). Place the sticky sheet with the cup in the trap.

The male mealybugs are attracted by the sexual pheromone, enter the trap and are caught.

Recommended density: 1 trap / ha

A unique formulation process

The technology of microencapsultaion patented by M2i is based on the dispersion of an organic mixture (natural wax, natural oil and active substance) in an aqueous phase (water and polymer). At the end of this process, the organic phase containing the active substance (here a pheromone) is trapped in polymer microcapsules.
