Action / advantages

WEICOSIL®-HA is a highly alkaline cleanser for strong adhering organic deposits affecting the efficiency of filtration. Before cleaning the system must be back-flushed with rinsing water in order to remove loose filter residues that the cleaning solution is not polluted too much. After cleaning it must be rinsed with a lot of water until pH neutrality.

 

Recommendation of application

Area of application - cleaning of membrane filtration plants.

Temperature - 10 °C − 70 °C

Concentration - 0.5 % − 2.0 %

Time - depending on application and equipment

Dosing - with dosing pump or manually

Concentration determination

Titration - To 100 ml application solution 3−5 drops of phenolph-thalein is added (red colour) and titrated with 1n HCl until it becomes colourless.

Calculation - needed ml 1n HCl x 0.179 = % WEICOSIL®-HA

Foam behaviour - low foaming, contains no defoamer

Temperature stability - 0 °C − + 40 °C

Stackability - Yes

Material compatibility - In the prescribed application concentrations stainless steel, iron etc. are not attacked. Due to the differences of membrane specifications on the market a general statement regarding compatibility can not be given. The information regarding material compatibility and approvals of membrane manufacturer must be considered.

Stability/Storage instructions - avoid frost
